Shaking off Saudi ‘big money’ to return to Tottenham…the ‘unlucky’ center back reveals what it’s like to be a Spurs player

Clément Langlais, who has rejected a move to Saudi Arabia in favor of a full move to Tottenham, has revealed why his future at the club remains uncertain.

Key manager Enze Postecoglou is reportedly refusing to let Clement leave the club. Britain’s Express, citing Spain’s Sport, reported on Wednesday (Nov. 23) that “Tottenham have made an outright bid for Clement, but Postecoglou is blocking it. Postecoglou is not interested in the player and is the main reason why the club are no longer pursuing him,” the report said.

The Frenchman moved to Tottenham from Barcelona last season. On loan, he made 35 appearances, including 26 in the English Premier League (EPL), scoring one goal.

However, Lenglet was not immune to the “horror show” of the defense. Tottenham conceded 63 goals in the EPL last season.

Only Southampton, Leeds United, Leicester City, Nottingham Forest, and Bournemouth conceded more goals than Spurs, three of which were relegated. Even with the worst defense, Spurs’ eighth-place finish is nothing short of a “miracle.

There was also dishonor. Soccer stats outlet Couchscore controversially included Lallana, not Eric Dier, in the EPL’s worst 11 for the 2022-2023 season. 메이저놀이터

Postecoglou had a trickle of left-footed Micky van der Penne, who is also left-footed, as a center-back option. He was given a pass for starting alongside Cristian Romero for the second consecutive game.

The “third option” was Davinson Sanchez. Sanchez was a favorite to be dropped, but a turnaround in preseason changed Postecoglou’s mind. He came on as a substitute in the first leg against Brentford after Romero was sent off just 14 minutes into the game, proving his credentials once again.

Eric Dier, who is out of contract next June, is hoping to stay but is not in Postecoglou’s plans. Fulham are interested in Dyer as a backup for the departure of Tosin Adarabioyo. Coincidentally, Adarabioyo is also being watched by Tottenham.

Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr, who have Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and others, have been linked with a move for Linglet. Lallana has declared his intention to stay in Europe in the hope of rejoining Tottenham.

However, that seems unlikely at the moment. Postecoglou is reportedly looking for a younger center back rather than the 28-year-old.
