‘Top scorer’ Anyang vs ‘4th scorer’ Seongnam… Who will win the attacking game? K League 2 15R preview

FC Anyang and Seongnam FC will face off against each other in a match that will see both teams boast a fiery offense.

Match of the Round – No. 1 Anyang with 22 goals vs. No. 4 Seongnam with 20 goals

Seongnam cruised to a 3-0 win against Ansan in Round 14, led by multi-goal scorers Chris and Denilson, who scored for the second straight game. Anyang also defeated Jeonnam 2-0 last weekend thanks to back-to-back goals from Moon Sung-woo and Andrigo.

Seongnam played Pohang in the FA Cup round of 16 during the week before facing Anyang. Despite the physicality factor, Seongnam prepared for Anyang by starting Kook Tae-jung, Lee Yoo-jin, and Ahn Jin-beom, all of whom have played less in the league aside from Cho Sung-wook, Park Sang-hyuk, and Denilson.

Currently, Seongnam is fourth in team goals scored with 20, while Anyang is first with 22. Unsurprisingly, the two teams are tied for fifth in shots with 156, while Anyang is second with 181. With attacking soccer expected, the second meeting of the season between the two teams will take place on Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Tancheon Sports Complex.

□ Team of the Round – ‘Chungbuk Cheongju’ turns the tide after a three-match unbeaten streak

With a 2-1 win over Cheonsan in Round 12, Chungbuk Cheongju picked up three points after 10 matches. They followed that up with a 3-0 win over Ansan in Round 13 and a 0-0 draw against powerhouse Gimcheon in Round 14. In addition to the three-match unbeaten streak, it is also impressive that Chungbuk Cheongju has kept two consecutive clean sheets in the last two matches, as the team is currently tied with Jeonnam for the most conceded goals (23) after Cheonan (31).

After turning their fortunes around, Chungbuk Cheongju will host Gyeongnam at home this round. In their first match of the season against Gyeongnam in Round 4, Chungbuk Cheongju took a 2-0 lead through goals from Peter and Kim Do-hyun early in the match, but conceded two goals later to settle for a 2-2 draw. Peter, who recently scored against Ansan, will once again find the back of the net for Gyeongnam, while Hong Won-jin, who has scored two goals in his last three games, will also be on the lookout.

To find out if Chungbuk Cheongju’s good form can continue in Round 15, the match between Chungbuk Cheongju and Gyeongnam will take place at 4 p.m. on the 27th at the Cheongju Sports Complex.

□ Player of the Round – Kim Chan (Busan) looks to continue his multi-goal performance in the Nakdong River Derby

In the second Nakdong River Derby between Busan and Gyeongnam this season, Busan forward Kim Chan was the star of the show. Kim opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a mid-range shot from outside the penalty box, and then scored the game-winner in the 32nd minute with the score tied at 1-1 to secure the three points 안전놀이터.

With his first career multi-goal performance, Kim continued his “if you score, you don’t lose” formula. The fifth-year pro has scored eight goals in 87 appearances to date, and in the seven matches he has scored in, the team has won all but one, a 2-2 draw against Busan and Seoul Eland in Round 20 of the 22nd season.

Kim has three goals and one assist in five games this season. The three goals are already his most in a single season. Busan’s Round 15 opponent is Chungnam Asan. Kim Chan scored a goal for Chungnam Asan in the 24th round last year. We’ll find out if Kim can continue his recent form against Chungnam Asan at Busan Gudeok Stadium on April 28 at 4 p.m. ET.
